I have a secret. This skirt isn’t really a skirt. It’s actually a Ravon convertible dress. I picked up a few on Ideeli a while ago and they finally were delivered. I was trying on one this morning, attempting to figure out a couple of configurations when I realized I was running late and needed to actually get dressed… Normally you wouldn’t wear a dress like this to work, but I grabbed a red shirt I’ve had forever (worn on Valentine’s day) and made the dress into a mock two-fer by wrapping the straps around like an obi.

Color blocks are the trend this Spring so I think it works pretty well. And I finally got to wear my new red Miz Mooz shoes I found at Nordstrom Rack a while ago. They are so comfortable! Other than my Born shoes, they are the first that I’ve worn the first time all day with no issues at all. They are well made with a feature I’ve never seen before in the heel: normally with wedges, if they don’t fit perfectly, my heel slips up, but these have a little elastic strip right in the back that keeps your heel in comfortably and prevents it from rubbing against the back of the shoe. It’s a really smart feature and makes me want to find more shoes from this brand.

I have had this blue sodalite necklace for a while but not a good outfit to wear it with. This one fit the bill nicely and compliments the skirt. The bracelet is one I picked up at a thrift store. I love the design but it is a little too big for me and kept turning around on my wrist.

I was pleased at how well the Ravon dress stayed in shape all day, and how girly it makes me feel. I had to resist the urge to spin around in it every time I was walking around. Based on what I came up with today, I think I will be able to come up with other ways to style it for work.
